Intercollegiate Exchange Agreements
The University is accredited by the Japan Institution for Higher Education Evaluation, a Japanese accreditation organization. Nagasaki Wesleyan University is a four-year university established by Chinzei Gakuin, which was founded in 1881. The University is accredited by the Japan Institution for Higher Education Evaluation, a Japanese accreditation organization.
The University offers the following exchange programs:

1. Comprehensive agreements

NWU has entered into partnership agreements with overseas universities to promote exchange and cooperation in education, research, and related areas.

2. Example overseas study programs based on comprehensive partnership agreements

NWU actively pursues intercollegiate exchange with overseas universities. Universities and other higher education institutions interested in pursuing the possibility of exchange or cooperation in education, research, and related areas are encouraged to contact the University for more information.

A. Short-term overseas study program
  Description: Students study Japanese under the Department of International Exchange’s Japanese Culture Course.
  Duration: One year (admission in April and October)

B. Dual degree program (“2+2”)
  Description: This program is open to students who have earned the required number of credits during at least two years of study at their home university. A total of 64 credits acquired at the student’s university can be recognized. Students transfer to NWU as juniors and can receive a Bachelor’s degree at both their home university and NWU by earning at least 64 credits over their two years of study at NWU.
  Duration: Two years (admission in April and October)

C. Dual degree transfer program (“1+3”)
  Description: This program is open to students who have earned the required number of credits during at least one year of study at their home university. A total of 31 credits acquired at the student’s university can be recognized. Students transfer to NWU as sophomores and can receive a Bachelor’s degree at NWU by earning at least 96 credits over three years of study at NWU.
  Duration: Three years (admission in April and October)

D. Other (foreign exchange programs, etc.)
  NWU is happy to consult with students concerning a variety of international university partnership programs, including foreign exchange and three-year transfer programs for students pursuing specialized courses of study.

3. Tuition

As a partner school, NWU is able to offer tuition-offsetting scholarships. Please contact the University for more information.
