【外国語学科】NWU 2018 English and Japanese Speech Contest

 Nagasaki Wesleyan University International Studies Course English and Japanese Speech Contest was held at Nishiyama Hall on November 8th, 2018. NWU students challenged their English and Japanese skills by participating in the Speech Contest sponsored by the Department of Foreign Languages. The audience was composed of Chinzei High School students as well as NWU students and educators.

 A total of 14 participants joined the contest with 7 participants presenting in English and 7 presenting in Japanese. Students from Japan as well as international students from Nepal, Vietnam, Philippines, China, Thailand, Brazil, and Korea were represented. Participants presenting in English spoke on topics of “life” and “success” and participants presenting in Japanese spoke on Bible verses and shared scriptural messages.

 First place for the English portion of the Speech Contest was awarded to Ryu Kyo from China. Second place was awarded to Marie Cristel Daao from the Philippines and third place was awarded to Shrestha Mohan from Nepal.

 Pantha Priyanka from Nepal was awarded first place for the Japanese portion of the Speech Contest. Second place was awarded to Chen Sipei from China and third place was awarded to Hong Nayeon from Korea.

 We would like to thank the participants for their enlightening speeches and for sharing their language skill.
