Today, we will study direct and indirect speech. This allows us to report what someone said in different ways. Let&#8217;s take a look at this mode of communication with some examples:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Direct Speech: She said, <strong>&#8220;I love ice cream.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Indirect Speech: She said that <strong>she loved ice cream.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In direct speech, we quote the exact words spoken, while in indirect speech, we report the speaker&#8217;s words without quoting directly.
