On July 13, 2024, an English Camp was held as an exciting and immersive language learning experience for local junior high school students. The English Camp, held at \uff2eagasaki \uff37esleyan \uff35niversity\/\u93ae\u897f\u5b66\u9662\u5927\u5b66 and supported by the Isahaya Board of Education, aimed to foster language skills and cultural exchange. This memorable event was made possible through the collaboration between Japanese sophomore seminar students and international exchange students from partner institutes in the Department of International Studies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The English Camp began with an interactive activity designed as an \u201cice breaker\u201d for students to get to know each other. Following this activity, Chinzei University students and local junior high school students were divided into smaller groups to foster closer interaction and communication. The university students took on the role of facilitators and guides throughout the event. The groups participated in various games designed to reinforce language learning and cultural understanding. Engaging in activities such as treasure hunting game, an original UNO game, English skills board game, and a clever \u201cWho\u2019s the Spy?\u201d guessing game. The participants had the opportunity to practice their English skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. The international students from Chinzei University brought their own unique cultural perspectives, which further enriched the experience by promoting cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.<\/span><\/p>\n

To conclude the event on a delightful note, a well-deserved treat awaited the participants. Hamburgers, French fries, and cold drinks were served, offering a delicious reward for their efforts during the English Camp. As the event drew to a close, participating students and staff enjoyed eating and chatting while capturing the memories and bonds created during this language-filled day.<\/span><\/p>\n

The English Camp supported by Nagasaki Wesleyan University\/\u93ae\u897f\u5b66\u9662\u5927\u5b66 and organized by the Isahaya Board of Education showcased the effectiveness of community collaboration in promoting language learning and cultural exchange. By involving both Japanese and International students, the event offered a unique opportunity for local junior high school students to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds, strengthening their language skills and fostering a global mindset.
