\"\" On Thursday, January 16, students from the <\/span>Department of International Studies (\u591a\u6587\u5316\u30b3\u30df\u30e5\u30cb\u30b1\u30fc\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3\u5b66\u79d1)<\/a> at Nagasaki Wesleyan University (\u93ae\u897f\u5b66\u9662\u5927\u5b66) held a fun and interactive \u201cJapan Day\u201d activity for both freshmen and sophomores. The event was designed to introduce aspects of Japanese culture to international students while encouraging collaboration and learning between Japanese and international students.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event kicked off with a game where participants described various Japanese dishes. Working in groups, everyone guessed what dish was being described. Laughter and excitement filled the room as students learned about Japanese cuisine in a new and engaging way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next, the activity introduced famous landmarks in Nagasaki Prefecture. Participants guessed the places based on enlarged illustrations, sparking discussions and curiosity about the region\u2019s rich history and attractions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The highlight of the day was the traditional Japanese game called fukuwarai<\/em>. In this game, participants placed the eyes, nose, and mouth in the correct positions on a face, creating funny and creative results. To add a humorous twist, the faces to be reconstructed were those of five professors from the Department of International Studies!<\/span><\/p>\n

The day ended with a sweet treat\u2014students were given umaibo<\/em>, a popular Japanese snack, as prizes. It was a joyful way to conclude the event and recognize everyone\u2019s participation.<\/span><\/p>\n

This activity wasn\u2019t just about games; it was an opportunity for students and professors in the Department of International Studies<\/a> to connect, share culture, and build bridges across backgrounds. Events like Japan Day show the warm and welcoming community at Nagasaki Wesleyan University and the enriching experiences that await students here.<\/span><\/p>\n
