Students in the Department of Foreign Language’s Community Service Learning (CSL) program were asked to share their thoughts about the university. The first question presented to the students is:

“How did you choose Chinzei Gakuin University (Nagasaki Wesleyan University)?”

The reason I chose Chinzei Gakuin university was because it was recommended to me by my high school teacher. I wanted to go to a university in Nagasaki Prefecture. Because I can commute from home. Another factor that made me decide to enroll in this university was that the tuition fees would be waived based on my qualifications, so there would be less of a burden on my parents. Currently, I am enjoying studying at this university. I have made many friends and am enjoying my student life. I am glad that I chose this university.

Nowadays I am very glad to have joined Nagasaki Wesleyan University to further my studies. Before I started this university, I had researched about Nagasaki Wesleyan University such as the academic development status, the extra ordinary activities, school size, academic rank, teaching style, geography, weather, sports activities, as well as the library programs. I had also researched what are the good points for students in this university. While I was understanding about this university, I found that the study environment here is very good and the teachers here teach with good strength and good effort and communication skills are very good. In this university, you can learn about international languages, culture, religions, castes, great festivals of different communities and get knowledge. I have carried out some research online, talking to others and senior students who were already studying here. I spoke to many Nepalese students who have already studied at Nagasaki Wesleyan University. Finally, I choose this university because I believe my long term career goals can only be achieved here.

I chose Chinzei Gakuin University because my high school was Chinzei Gakuin High School and I could use the in-school recommendation to get a lower tuition fee, but now the study abroad program is a good idea. I went to Malaysia to study abroad for a month, albeit for a short period. The cost of studying abroad is affordable.

There are some main reasons for my choosing Chinzei Gakuin University. The first reason is that I chose Chinzei University is that I’ve been studying Japanese here as a Nihongo Gakusei, which helped me a lot about knowing the university. Second, I found out that Chinzei Gakuin University has many different programs for international students. Like learning Japanese calligraphy, knowing how to make Japanese tea, etc. Third, my seniors had always recommended the Chinzei University for the further studies. Listening more from seniors about the Chinzei University made me choose it.

This year I am a 3rd year student at Chinzei Gakuin University and I feel very proud and lucky to have chosen this school because here I have learned a lot of things. There were three reasons why I chose this university. First，I wanted to return to my homeplace, Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto prefecture during long vacations and Golden Week. It’s not that far from here so it’s easy to do. Second, Chinzei had its own scholarship system. I was able to enroll as a scholarship student, and my all enrollment fees and part of tuition fee has been waived. Finally, it was my dream to take classes with international students. Many international students are enrolled at this college so my dream has come true. It has been three years since I entered this college. I was not only to make so many wonderful memories but also get certifications here so I’m glad I enrolled in this college.

I chose Chinzei Gakuin University because I want to study English and culture of various countries. I didn’t like English when I was a junior high school student but I like English after I went to an English conversation class. It is exciting for me to communicate with people in English.
