Students in the Department of Foreign Language’s Community Service Learning (CSL) program were asked to share their thoughts about the university. The third question presented to the students is:

“What did you learn during your first year at the university?”

Student responses are as follows:

As a foreign student, it was very difficult for me to get along with the environment and the people. But because the people here are supportive, everything became simpler and easier. I got a chance to learn a lot of good things by coming here. I got a chance to learn about Japanese language, religion, culture, lifestyle and dress. I learned about Japanese lifestyle. I also found out why and how to save time and money.

First of all, I would like to admit my genuine gratitude for Nagasaki Wesleyan University because the teacher, teaching materials, methodologies and infrastructure really made my first year of studying reliable. The guidance teachers and the extraordinary facilities of university really helped me learn easily even when the linguistic and cultural difference hit.
